We are constantly working to make your shopping experience easier. We understand that it can be overwhelming shopping in a natural foods store. At the NHC, we label all of our gluten free and Non-GMO products. Our vitamin aisles are labelled to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for. And, we have an awesome staff here to serve YOU!

Meet the Team

Kendra
Sales Leader
Kendra has always had an interest in natural health and healing. She has taken numerous classes and trainings on the topic. She has been in the industry for over 15 years (4 of which we owned her own store). Her hobbies include organic gardening, cooking and being outside with her family. She enjoys working at the NHC because “It’s my favorite place to shop”, helping people with their health and her great co-workers.

Shift Leader/Supplements
Aaron enjoys the friendly environment of the NHC and the customers that he gets to help everyday. In his free time he enjoys working out, music, and reading.

Tamara
Tamara loves the quality of the products NHC carry's and the great customers that come in to shop here. In her free time she enjoys art, gardening and running (she just completed her first 1/2 marathon).
Meagan
Assistant Manager, Grocery Buyer
Meagan is NHC’s jack of all trades. She helps with inventory control, backend organization and customer service. She enjoys the friendly atmosphere of the NHC and talking to all the great people that shop with us. Meagan enjoys coming up with ways to clean and take care of her face with items in her food pantry!
Jessica
Sales Clerk
Jess loves that the NHC is locally owned and carries so many local products. Knowing where her food comes from is very important to her. She enjoys ceramics, is a licensed massage therapist, and is somewhat of a local pool "dolphin"(we thought pool shark might not sound to nice).
Mandy
Produce/Quality Control
Mandy loves learning about health and nutrition. "At NHC I learn new things everyday and get to help others.". Outside of the NHC, this Navy veteran can is working towards a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology at WMU. She enjoys hiking and cycling.
Luis
Asst. Bulk Team Leader/Shift Leader
Luis is a big proponent of the NHC philosophy that we want all our customers to "feel better' after visiting the store. He likes to help customers and is our resident "jack of all trades". If it needs fixing, organizing, you name it-Luis can do it. He is finishing up his Exercise Science degree at WMU and is an avid soccer player.

Sales Clerk
Kate vivacious personality makes her a great sales clerk. She enjoys the positive work environment of the NHC and learning something new every shift. She is an identical twin, majoring in Audiology at WMU. She hopes to open a clinic of her own one day with her sister.

Zach’s a newbie to NHC but is already enjoying the friendly atmosphere and helpful co-workers. He’s a senior at WMU, majoring in Biomedical Sciences. We are happy to have Zach as part our NHC family.

Buyer's Club Manager
Marlene has been part of the NHC family for over 15 years. Even though she is past retirement age ( She’s a great-grandmother), She continues to work at NHC because she feels it’s good for her “mental and physical health”. Marlene is in charge of NHC’s Buyers Club program.

Chelsea
Chelsea attends KVCC’s new Culinary/Sustainable Food Systems School. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling. NHC is a great fit for her, she loves all the local products NHC offers and learning so much at work from her co-workers, trainings and customers.
Marcus
Shift Leader
Marcus is a welder by trade. His love of fitness and nutrition makes NHC a great fit for him. He enjoys the wide spectrum of customers and employees that he works with on a daily basis. He is training to become a Olympian sprinter. Outside of NHC, Marcus enjoys spending time with his new wife and exploring Kalamazoo.

Eric has been part of the NHC family for over 10 years. He worked as a sales clerk all through college. After graduation he became a special education teacher in the Mattawan School District. Eric still comes back to work summers at NHC and special events. He loves the great selection of gluten free products at the NHC. Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Nan
Nan has been part of team NHC for 10 years. After she retired from the Eaton Corp, she starting working at NHC part-time. Nan has known the Wunderlin family for over 60 years. he attending Mike and Kay’s(our owners) wedding! She loves the great co-workers and customers she works with. Nan is a wonderful baker and if you are lucky enough you might just get a yummy vegan sweet treat for your birthday! Outside of NHC, Nan enjoys golfing, camping and spending time with her granddaughters.

Produce Manager
Bob is our produce manager and idea man! His love of people and great fresh food makes him a wonderful fit at the NHC. We feel pretty lucky to have him in the family! He has over 30 years of experience in the produce industry and brings of wealth of knowledge and creativity to our store. If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Bob, stop in and introduce yourself. His smile and laughter is contagious. Outside of the NHC, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, gardening and cooking up new ideas to implement at NHC!

Taylor is NHC’s produce assistant. Her great personality and love of learning makes her a great addition to the NHC team. She is a student at WMU and loves eating healthy and nutrition.

Front End Manager
As a vegan/vegetarian since his early 20's, Todd is our go-to guy for great vegan cooking ideas. He tells us that what makes him really happy are the wonderful customers he sees everyday. "I love all the great products we carry; local, organic, Non-GMO, and especially all the great vegetarian items." He's a pretty great uncle and enjoys spending time with his family.

Mike has been with the NHC for the past 6 years. He’s a great asset to the team and we appreciate his organization. He’s turning 30 this year and he’s amazed “to see for oneself how small, simple, daily choices can make huge differences. NHC has allowed me to learn a lot and share my experiences with others… Plus, I love talking about food!”

Garrick has been working in the natural foods industry for almost 30 years. He likes the team atmosphere at the NHC and enjoys coming to work. His hobbies include fitness and healthy eating.

I love shopping at the NHC even though I have to drive across town to get there.  Last year I saved almost $1,000 on purchases at NHC.
